Project Name: Jenkins

Stand description:

We have been to FOSDEM to the past 2 years in a row. The Jenkins stand
has been manned by about 3-8 community members throughout the weekend
who used the opportunity to meet with users who already knew about us
(and give them stickers!), talk about how the project works/where it's
going, and demonstrate Jenkins to people who never knew about it.

We would very likely be doing much more of the same this time around if
accepted, demonstrating Jenkins to new-comers as well as meeting
users/developers who are interested in meeting some of the faces "behind
the project."

Why should FOSDEM accept this proposal?:

Besides the usefulness of Jenkins, the two best parts about the project
are the underlying transparency/openness and pragmatism. At last year's
FOSDEM I believe we gave 2 people who came to the stand commit access,
and the founder of the project even walked some folks through developing
a plugin in 10 minutes at the table. Because we come from all over, we
have talked with many FOSDEM attendees in their native tongue (English,
German, French, Dutch and Japanese were spoken last year).

Overall the experience, and the vibe is fantastic at FOSDEM and I think
the Jenkins group brings a friendliness and enthusiasm for open source
(and automation) that helps make FOSDEM a stellar event.

In the last few years that the Jenkins project has been at FOSDEM, this
event has quickly grown into one of the key gathering of European
Jenkins developers. Everybody from the Jenkins project was excited to
come back this year, including myself (the project founder) and Tyler
(who manages the automation dev room) who will travel all the way from
California for the event again.

We are planning to organize a co-located gathering Monday in addition to
FOSDEM.

So we are really looking forward to a stand in FOSDEM as a meeting place
for all the Jenkins community people who are at the event.
