There's even an existing NYC Jenkins meetup group: <a href="http://www.meetup.com/NYC-Jenkins-Meetup/" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank">http://www.meetup.com/NYC-Jenkins-Meetup/</a> -- or are those the people you talked to?<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>Nice, I didn't know this, and I don't recognize the organizer. We should reach out to them. I'd love to stop by NYC on my way to Europe and present if that helps, too.</div><div><br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
Just wondering: is the idea really to restrict this only to Jenkins, or would general talks on build/test automation/continuous integration/delivery meet the definition?<br>

I ask since it seems like (in all but the largest cities) where there are meetup groups, it's quite hard to keep momentum going by constantly finding new topics and speakers on a semi-regular basis -- all the more so when the meetup topic is more niche.</blockquote><div><br></div><div>I think <a href="http://www.meetup.com/seleniumsanfrancisco/">Selenium guys</a> have done this very well. I think Tyler is involved in this, too.</div><div><br></div><div>Their topics have been fairly broad, and as a case in point I've presented there once about Jenkins. Like Selenium, Jenkins touches a lot of things, so I think we can have good coverage of topics without losing the focus. But I do want to retain "Jenkins" in it because I see this as a way of engaging with the Jenkins community and building more relationship, which is a part of the fun.</div><div><br></div><blockquote class="gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex">
In any case, I'll be interested to hear the ideas and the outcome, as Fred G and I met up last month in Cologne and discussed something similar.. :)<br></blockquote><div><br></div><div>We'll make sure to take notes! </div></div><div><br></div>-- <br><div class="gmail_signature">Kohsuke Kawaguchi</div>
