[Jenkins-infra] Jenkins product question

Hi, certainly would have been preferable to use the jenkins-users mailing
list for that question.

Anyway: yes Git works very well. We use it every days on hundreds of jobs.

Cannot confirm personally for P4 since we don't use it but pretty sure I've
seen people using it successfully on the lists.

For packaging, there're many supported format IIRC but none more
recommended than another one.
YMMV, we for one run the Jenkins master using the plain .war file through
java -jar on a Linux server for /historical/ reasons and plan to migrate
over running it through docker in the short-term.
