[Jenkins-infra] Jenkins' Jira won't stop sending de-watched issue updates to my email

Hello Arnaud,

Thank you so much for taking the time to look into this issue for me. Unfortunately, the resolution is not that simple. I do not seem to recall the credentials for the "rbagga" user (or am unable to get in as I thought I did recall it). The Jira reset password link takes me to some sort of SSO account management system. That system doesn't recognize the "rbagga" user. When I enter that username to reset the password I get no email sent to me. When I alternatively enter the "brocarl at live.ca" email address, instead of a username, to reset the password, it resets the password for the "rajpaul" user. This tells me that its email address record is not paired up with the email address set separately in the Jira system.

I then updated the "rajpaul" user in the account system to use a different email address entirely. When I then tried to enter "brocarl at live.ca" to the reset password form, it reported that there was no user for that email.

While I don't recall exactly, it is likely this inability to get back in that prompted a second user to get created in the first place. At this point I need help in order to do something with the rbagga username account on Jira. I would be happy if it were simply deleted. Or some way to reset the password is fine too.

Thank you again.

Hi Rajpaul
It looks that you have 2 accounts in Jira and probably both of them were watching the issue

If you login with the second account and unwatch the issue it should be fixed
Best regards

To whom it may concern:

I need some help. A good long time ago I voted for, and started Watching, a Jira issue for Jenkins:

Job changes led to me no longer needing to be aware of the status of this issue, so I stopped Watching it. But I continued to receive issue updates as if I were still watching it. I even updated my profile email on issues.jenkins-ci.org to a junk value and yet I still receive email updates for this issue at this email address.

Can someone please clean that up so I stop getting updates? That ticket has recently seen a flood of new activity which is getting bothersome. I'd rather not have to report it as spam.

My profile username on that site is "rajpaul". This email is the one at which I receive these updates (brocarl at live.ca).

My thanks to whoever can look at this. Please note, I have not subscribed to your jenkins-infra mailing list so any replies would need to be sent to me personally.

Have a great weekend everyone.
