I think the releases feed has some value, there's a ticket tracking this here:

To simplify things, I think it might make sense to incorporate this into the
jenkins.io generation and ensure that jenkins.io is periodically being
re-generated. Otherwise we would need to drop releases.rss inside a constantly
changing jenkins.io `current/` directory, or add a specifial Apache `Alias`
directive for `releases.rss`.
