Hi,
It's funny to see that getting sponsored by Sentry means generating so
much activity on this mailing list.
> Should we mention infrastructure sponsors?
I think yes, those sponsors are really important for the infra project,We should mention them on the jenkins infrastructure page
(https://jenkins.io/projects/infrastructure/) and more globally this sub
project page should be update with other topics like how to contribute,
link to document,...I never had the time to work on this, but it would clearly improve the
visibility on the infrastructure project.
> Is hosting mirrors can be considered as sponsoring?
Why it wouldn't? People spend free time to deploy and maintain a service
for their (local) community.Usually they respond quickly, so it's always good to know that people
enjoy your work.
> We should try and automate the creation of a dedicated section for
> mirrors sponsorship. They are some discussion about should we still rely on Jenkins mirrors
to distribute packages or isn't a better solution?.We are currently investigating to store everything on Azure but nothing
is decided yet.The main reasons why we would like to avoid mirrors are explained here
https://www2.cs.arizona.edu/stork/packagemanagersecurity/faq.htmlI started working on a IEP document that explain that
https://github.com/jenkins-infra/iep/pull/17 (still WIP) but I have a
bandwidth issue.
